Released on September 28, 2009, Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel debuted at number three on the Billboard 200 after selling 168,000 copies, and was certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America on September 26, 2022. “Each song is like an intimate conversation or entry in a private diary,” Mariah said about the album. “A lot of the songs reflect specific, different times in my life. Others were inspired by movies, actual events that happened to me, or the stories of friends who told me about experiences that they've gone through.”
The album was co-produced with C. “Tricky” Stewart and Terius “The-Dream” Nash, who previously worked with Mariah on her eighteenth number-one single, “Touch My Body.” “I really enjoyed working with them because I felt like they, in a way, just by collaborating with me, allowed me the freedom to express myself in a way that I may not have felt empowered enough to do in the past,” Mariah told MTV. “My main goal was to work with people I could collaborate with without it seeming redundant or stale. In my opinion, Tricky is one of the most underrated major producers out there right now. I really enjoyed collaborating with him. And I especially liked writing with The-Dream, basically because we both love having fun with lyrics and melodies, and we're also capable of getting more serious on deeper songs. There is a particular sense of freedom I feel when we write together — even though I make him stay in the studio all night until he is ready to kill me!”
“Obsessed,” the album's first single, was released on June 16, 2009. “I'm very glad I wrote ‘Obsessed’ because it's one of my favorite songs,” Mariah said in 2009. “I won't say exactly what made me write it, but I guess if you think about it, I remember when I was growing up and a guy, a little boy, maybe like in sixth grade or in fifth grade, and they're constantly tripping you or pulling your hair or doing things like that and you just wonder, ‘What is wrong with them? What is their problem? Why do they keep talking about me? I don't understand this person. What is the problem?’ ” “Obsessed” entered the Billboard Hot 100 chart at number eleven during the week of July 25, 2009, her highest debut on the chart since “My All” entered at number two in 1998. The song peaked at number seven on the Hot 100, becoming Mariah's twenty-seventh Top 10 single, and was certified 3x Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America on November 19, 2020.
A cover of Foreigner's “I Want To Know What Love Is” made its premiere on European radio on August 28, 2009. In the United States, the song impacted radio on September 14 and was digitally released as the album's second single a day later. “I wanted to respect the original version. I didn't want to make it something unrecognizable, but I did incorporate my own vision,” Mariah said about her cover. “I wanted more drums, and Randy [Jackson] got a drummer who works predominantly in church, which took it to a different level.” The song peaked at number sixty on the Billboard Hot 100 and became Mariah's biggest hit in Brazil, where it stayed atop the charts for twenty-seven weeks — the longest chart-topper in the history of the Crowley Broadcast Analysis.
“H.A.T.E.U.” was released as the album's third single on November 1, 2009. It debuted at number seventy-six on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, making Mariah one of only five female artists to reach fifty career entries in the history of the chart. “‘H.A.T.E.U.’ is the first song I wrote for the album, and it stands for Having A Typical Emotional Upset,” Mariah said in 2009. “I sing a recurring melody in the upper register of my voice — it's not an ad-lib, but an integral part of the song's hook. That's not something I've done before, and when listening back to it, it reminded me of how Minnie Riperton used her upper register on her hit song ‘Lovin' You.’ I thought how ironic that her song was called ‘Lovin' You’ and my song is called, ‘H.A.T.E.U.’ — and both use that upper whistle register as a major part of the melody. So it's sort of an homage to Minnie Riperton, a tribute to her since she has been so influential in my singing style.”
In January 2010, Island Records announced the release of Angels Advocate, which would include newly remixed duets with some of Mariah's favorite artists performing songs from Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel. The album — which would feature Mary J. Blige, Ne-Yo, Nicki Minaj, Fabolous, R. Kelly, The-Dream & Ludacris, T-Pain & Snoop Dogg, Akon, Trey Songz, K-Ci & Jo Jo, and OJ Da Juiceman & OutKast's Big Boi — was to be released on March 30, 2010, exclusively at Target stores nationwide, iTunes.com/target and Target.com.
Two new singles were released in advance of the Angels Advocate album: “Angels Cry,” featuring Ne-Yo, was sent to Urban A/C radio, while “Up Out My Face,” featuring Nicki Minaj, was sent to Urban and Rhythm radio. The project was eventually shelved, but Mariah would later include two additional Angels Advocate songs as bonus tracks on the Deluxe Edition of her 2014 album Me. I Am Mariah… The Elusive Chanteuse: “Betcha Got' Know,” featuring R. Kelly, and “It's A Wrap,” featuring Mary J. Blige.

Whoa, welcome to a day of my life (Day of my life)
The memoirs of an imperfect angel…
Whoa, welcome, welcome, welcome to a day of my life
The memoirs of an imperfect angel
Though the lights were low
I could see you both in a lovers' silhouette
And my heart stood still, I was froze right there
Staring down at her red dress
So I bolted out the door, jumped right into the car
It's too dangerous to be in the vicinity of where you are
Rolled down all the windows just so I could breathe
Can't believe you just actually did this shit to me
I'm goin' about a hundred, mascara runnin'
Laughing out of anger, but it don't strike me as funny
Been too good to you, I've been virtuous and true
To have something like this happen in my own bedroom
I betcha gon' know, know how it feels (When I get you back)
Betcha gon' know, know how it feels (And your heart's been cracked)
Betcha gon' know, know how it feels (When we fade to black)
How it feels for real (And you see your whole world collapse)
And I'm gon' la-la-la-la-la-laugh
I'm gon' la-la-la-la-la-laugh
I'm gon' la-la-la-la-la-laugh right in your face boy
Betcha gon' know, know how it feels…
Betcha gon' know…
So I pulled to the side of the road to fix my face
But I can't cover with makeup what my tears want to erase
I wake up in a haze, morning dew and sun rays
As I drive I hide my eyes behind my black Cavalli shades
A block from the house slowly creep in the driveway
Tip-toe through the door, but you're there, wide awake
You're like “Where you been?”
I'm like “Sorry but I fell asleep on Jasmine's sofa,
I could've sworn that Rae Rae called you and told ya”
You like “You ok”, I'm like “Mmm I'm all right
A little sleep and I'll be fine”
But if you only knew what was in the back of my mind
Already stung but you really gon' find out in time
Oh I
I betcha gon' know, know how it feels (When I get you back)
Betcha gon' know, know how it feels (And your heart's been cracked)
Betcha gon' know, know how it feels (When we fade to black)
How it feels for real (And you see your whole world collapse)
This is for real, for real, for real
Oprah Winfrey whole segment for real, for real
20/20 Barbara Walters for real, for real
60 minutes for real
Baby (I had all my trust in you and look at what you put me through)
You got me all crazy (Somewhere down the line you gon' get what you deserve, you fuckin' jerk)
You were supposed to save me (You were supposed to save me)
My sweet baby (My sweet baby)
But now we're fading away
But you're gonna know how this feels
Even if it's the last thing I ever do
To be continued…

And I was like ‘Why you so obsessed with me?’
So, oh, ohh
So, oh, ohh
So, oh, ohh
So, oh, ohh
So, oh, ohh
So, oh, ohh
So, oh, ohh
So, oh, ohh
All up in the blogs sayin' we met at the bar
When I don't even know who you are
Sayin' we up in your house, sayin' I'm up in your car
But you're in LA and I'm out at Jermaine's
I'm up in the A, you so so lame
And no one here even mentions your name
It must be the weed, it must be the E
Cause you be poppin', heard you get it poppin'
Why you so obsessed with me? Boy I wanna know
Lyin' that you're sexin' me, when everybody knows
It's clear that you're upset with me oh, oh, oh
Finally found a girl that you couldn't impress
Last man on the earth, still couldn't get this
You're delusional, you're delusional
Boy you're losin' your mind
It's confusing yo, you're confused ya know
Why you wastin' your time?
Got you all fired up with your Napoleon complex
See right through you like you're bathin' in Windex
Oh, oh, oh
Boy why you so obsessed with me?
So, oh, ohh
So, oh, ohh (Obsessed)
(And all my ladies say)
So, oh, ohh (Obsessed)
(And all my girls say)
Uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh (Obsessed)
Uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh (Obsessed)
Uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh (Obsessed)
Uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh (Obsessed)
You're on your job, you're hatin' hard
Ain't ton' feed ya, Imma let ya starve
Graspin' for air, I'm ventilation
You're out of breath, hope you ain't waitin'
Tellin' the world how much you miss me
But we never were, so why you trippin'
You're a mom and pop, I'm a corporation
I'm the press conference, you're a conversation
Why you so obsessed with me? Boy I wanna know
Lyin' that you're sexin' me, when everybody knows
It's clear that you're upset with me oh, oh, oh
Finally found a girl that you couldn't impress
Last man on the earth, still couldn't get this
You're delusional, you're delusional
Boy you're losin' your mind

Uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh (Obsessed)
Why you so obsessed with me? Boy I wanna know (Hey, he's all up in my George Foreman)
Lyin' that you're sexin' me, when everybody knows (Lyin' that you're sexin' Mimi)
It's clear that you're upset with me oh, oh, oh
Finally found a girl that you couldn't impress
Last man on the earth, still couldn't get this
You're delusional, you're delusional (He's all up in my George Foreman)
Boy you're losin' your mind
It's confusing yo, you're confused ya know (But I can do nothing, boy)
Why you wasting' your time?

Once upon a time we swore not to say goodbye
Something got a hold of us and we changed
And then you sat alone in pride
And I sat at home and cried
How'd our fairy tale just end up this way
We went round for round till we knocked love out
We were laying in the ring not making a sound
And if that's a metaphor of you and I
Why is it so hard to say goodbye
I can't wait to hate you make you pain like I do
Still can't shake you off (Still can't shake you off)
I can't wait to break through these emotional changes
Seems like such a lost cause
I can't wait to face you break you down so low
There's no place left to go
I can't wait to hate you…
Ooh this was a love phenomenon no one could explain
And I wish I could press reset and feel that feeling again
I sit and press rewind and watch us every night
Wanna pause it but I can't make it stay
Just gotta let it play
We went round for round till we knocked love out
We were laying in the ring not making a sound
And if that's a metaphor of you and I
Why is it so hard to say goodbye
I can't wait to hate you make you pain like I do
Still can't shake you off (Still can't shake you off)
I can't wait to break through these emotional changes
Seems like such a lost cause
I can't wait to face you break you down so low
There's no place left to go
I can't wait to hate you…
No need to call my phone cause I changed my number today
And matter fact I think I'm movin' away, away
Sorry the frustration's got me feeling a way
And I just keep having one last thing to say
And I just wanna hold you, touch you, feel you, be near you
I miss you baby baby baby
I'm tired of tryin to fake through
But there's nothing I can do
Boy I can't wait to hate you
I can't wait to hate you make you pain like I do
Still can't shake you off (Still can't shake you off)
I can't wait to break through these emotional changes
Seems like such a lost cause
I can't wait to face you break you down so low
There's no place left to go
I can't wait to hate you baby…
I can't wait to h-a-t-e you
Cause right now I need you
Can't wait to make you go
I can't wait to h-a-t-e you
Cause right now I need you
Can't wait to make you go

I still remember that hazy September
I've been waitin' for somebody like you to come back around
We would walk in the park every Saturday
Brand new all in love kissin' time away
You was all up on me, it was plain to see
That I was your girl
Way back then it was the simple things
Anklets, name plates that you gave to me
Sweet tarts, ring pops had that candy bling
And you were my world
Now I wish I could go back and make time stop
I would take this love throw back from the top
Go DJ play my song
And Imma think about you all night long
Back in the day we were in love, we're not in love any more
But some days I sit and wish we was in love again (A while ago)
Back in the day we were in love, we're not in love any more
But some days I sit and wish we was in love again (A while ago)
Irresponsible things we would do like
Fall asleep on the phone and skippin' school
Now I'm back to the future missin' you
My sweet baby (Like candy bling)
My sweet thing, like candy
Felt like real love, not just play play (Candy bling)
Missin' you my sweet baby (I can't delete your picture from my mind)
It was everything that I could do to stay away
And I often reminisce about the games we played
Oh yeah it was tag, chase, spin the bottle
Them butterflies would last till tomorrow
Then the lights came on
I had to run right home
And now I wish I could go back and make time stop
And I would take this love throw back from the top
Go DJ play my song
And Imma think about you all night long
Back in the day we were in love, we're not in love any more
But some days I sit and wish we was in love again (A while ago)
Back in the day we were in love, we're not in love any more
But some days I sit and wish we was in love again (A while ago)
Irresponsible things we would do like
Fall asleep on the phone and skippin' school
Now I'm back to the future missin' you
My sweet baby (Like candy bling)
My sweet thing, like candy
Felt like real love, not just play play
Missin' you my sweet baby (My sweet, sweet)
(I can't delete your picture from my mind)
I'm the same Mimi, fame ain't changed me
Butterfly flow like Muhammad Ali
Wish I could bring you back like the O.D.B.
Thinkin' about the whirlpools, me you and Jack
No matter what I do, all the memories are stacked
Thinkin 'bout 10th grade, thinkin 'bout 11th
Then you went Dougie Fresh all the way to heaven
Back in the day we were in love, we're not in love any more (Back in the day)
But some days I sit and wish we was in love again (I sit and wish we was)
Back in the day we were in love, we're not in love any more (I wish we was just like back in the day)
But some days I sit and wish we was in love again
Irresponsible things we would do like (Still I remember)
Fall asleep on the phone and skippin' school
Now I'm back to the future missin' you (Now I'm back in the, now I'm stuck in the future missin' you)
My sweet baby
My sweet thing, like candy
Felt like real love, not just play play
Missin' you my sweet baby (I can't delete your picture from my mind)
My sweet baby
My sweet thing, like candy (I can't delete your picture from my mind)

Call my phone
Baby call my phone
Baby call my phone
I've been waiting to hear your ringtone
Call my phone
Baby call my phone
Baby call my phone
I've been waiting to hear your ringtone
Lost without my other half
How can I live without ya
I don't want another
That's why I'm messed up about ya
Can't even dream without seein' you
Why should I even try to breathe (Breathe)
And everything is off
Where are you
Guess it's all my fault
Lady sings the blues
No one could deny it
We were flying like United
Thought we'd never be divided
Cause the love we had inside us was
Inseparable
If you're bumping this song
And you're searching for the moment
When two hearts went wrong
Inseparable
Just lost your love
Cause you swore you never ever give it up
Cause you thought y'all was
Inseparable
Thought we'd stay together
Always and forever
But now I see that no one is
Inseparable, except for us
One of us just gotta pick the phone up
Cause I know we're still inseparable
Got photos of us on my refrigerator
Videos on my phone
Boy I just can't erase 'em
The first text I ever got from ya
Still saved in my inbox
And I read it back ‘time after time’
Boy I'm lost can't you look, won't you please find me
I'm down to my last tear, come rescue me
See it's broken my heart
To the point where I don't leave the house
No reason now, weekends out
Just ain't the same without you
Boy I thought we were
Inseparable
If you're bumping this song
And you're searching for the moment
When two hearts went wrong
Inseparable
Just lost your love
Cause you swore you never ever give it up
Cause you thought y'all was
Inseparable
Thought we'd stay together
Always and forever (Always)
But now I see that no one is
Inseparable, except for us
One of us just gotta pick the phone up
It's been sixteen days sSince I held you tight
Balled up me and my pillow in the middle of the night
Boy I just wish you'd show up and make everything all right
So what you waitin' for
Cause both of us still know that we're
Inseparable
If you're bumping this song
And you're searching for the moment
When two hearts went wrong
Inseparable
Just lost your love
Cause you swore you never ever give it up
Cause you thought ya'll was
Inseparable
Thought we'd stay together
Always and forever
But now I see that no one is
Inseparable, except for us
One of us just gotta pick the phone up
Cause I know we're still
Inseparable (I know, I know, I know we are… Hey)
If you're bumping this song
And you're searching for the moment
When two hearts went wrong (I know, I know, I know we are)
Inseparable
Just lost your love
Cause you swore you never ever give it up
Cause you thought ya'll was
Inseparable
I thought we'd stay together
Always and forever
But now I see that no one is
Inseparable, except for us
One of us just gotta pick the phone up
Cause I know we're still
Inseparable (Pick the phone up, gotta pick the phone up)
If you're bumping this song
And you're searching for the moment
When two hearts went wrong (Pick the phone up, gotta pick the phone up)
Inseparable
Just lost your love
Cause you swore
You never ever give it up (Oh baby you gotta pick the phone up)
Cause you thought ya'll was
Inseparable

Here's your standing O
By you remind me of a love that seemed so sublime
Your kisses told me oh so many lies
Shades on like I be stuntin' through the night
But I'm just hiding puffy eyes
To keep the world from knowing what's inside
I didn't know o o o o oo
It was a show o o oo oo
And your words they had no meaning
How didn't I foresee this
Happiness and congrats and all that
I'll pretend I mean it
So cheers, toast, bravo to you
Cause you're the man of the hour
Imma have to send you some flowers
Whoa
Cheers, toast, bravo to you
The man of the hour
You played the one that loved you the most
So here's your standing O
Boy, so here's your standing O
Gave you my heart and all you did was pound on it
So here's your standing O
Here's your standing ovation
Doctor I was too patient
Even when you wasn't enough
I'm the one who taught you how to love
And boy I gave you all of me
The parts of affection you couldn't see
As you embrace her in your arms
Give her my all
Give her more than you gave to me
When you had nothing I gave
When you were weak I made you brave
You want to leave me with scars on my heart
It's funny how ya'll forget it all
So cheers, toast, bravo to you
Cause you're the man of the hour
Imma have to send you some flowers
Whoa
Cheers, toast, bravo to you
The man of the hour
You played the one that loved you the most
So here's your standing O
Boy, so here's your standing O
Gave you my heart
And all you did was pound on it
So here's your standing O
Round of applause
To the biggest fool in the world
Give them all that you got
And they still ride out into the sunset with the next girl
Round of applause
To the biggest fool in the world
Give them all that you got
And they still ride out into the sunset with the next girl
Standing ovation
Congratulations
Damn I was down for it
Gave you my heart and all you did was pound on it (So here's your standing O)
Standing ovation
Congratulations
Damn I was down for it
Gave you my heart and all you did was pound on it
All you did was pound on it
Gave you my heart
And all you did was pound on it
All you did was pound on it

Yet another early morning
And you walk in like it's nothing
Hold up, hold up, hold tight
Ain't no donuts, ain't no coffee
See I know you seen me calling and calling
I should crack you right in your forehead
Let me take a breath
And regain my composure
Told you one more time
If you f'ed up, it's over
When it's gone, it's gone, it's gone, it's gone
You're dead wrong, so wrong, so wrong, so wrong
So just scoo-do-do-do-do, scoo-do-do-do-do
Baby it's a wrap
Shoo-do-do-do-do, shoo-do-do-do-do
For you baby
It's a wrap
It's a wrap for you boy
It's a wrap
Aww baby
Ooh-we oooh-oooh
E-ooh
If I ever misrepresented my self image
Then I'm sorry
I was oh so acquiescent
But I learned my lesson
Boy you're sorry
Bump-bump-bump-bump
All out in the open
Don't make me go call Maury Povich
Let me take a breath
And regain my composure
Told you one more time
If you f'ed up it's over
When it's gone, it's gone, it's gone, it's gone
You dead wrong, so wrong, so wrong, so wrong
So just scoo-do-do-do-do, scoo-do-do-do-do
Baby it's a wrap
Shoo-do-do-do-do, shoo-do-do-do-do
For you baby
It's a wrap
It's a wrap for you boy
It's a wrap
Aww baby
Put all your shit in the elevator
It's goin' down like a denominator
Tryin to keep holdin', on holdin' on
Boy let me go
You gon' wake my neighbors, get away from my door
That was your last shot, you ain't comin back
It's the Martini, I mean it baby
It's a wrap
It's a wrap
When it's gone, it's gone, it's gone, it's gone
You're dead wrong, so wrong, so wrong, so wrong (You're dead wrong)
So just scoo-do-do-do-do, scoo-do-do-do-do (Boy I'm checkin' the gate)
Baby
It's a wrap for you baby
Shoo-do-do-do-do, shoo-do-do-do-do (I told you, I told you)
It's a wrap (If you f'ed up one more time it's over)
It's a wrap (So get up out my face I'm hung over)
So just scoo-do-do-do-do, scoo-do-do-do-do
Baby (Been sitting here all night, leave me alone)
Shoo-do-do-do-do, shoo-do-do-do-do (Since quarter to three I been drinkin' Patrón)
It's a wrap (Watch the credits roll)
It's a wrap

It's not chipped
We're not cracked
Oh we're shattered
I thought we had something special and we had something good
But I should have had another mechanic under my hood
If you see me walkin' by ya boy, don't you even speak
Pretend you're on a sofa and I'm on the TV
Might see me on a poster, see me at a show
But you won't see me for free
Boy this ain't no promo
Actin' all shamed now
Wherever you been layin' you can stay now
Gotta board the BBJ and pull the shades down
I'm on the plane now
And don't keep callin' from your momma's house
When I break I break, boy
Up out my face boy, up out my face boy
Up out my face, I break
Up out my face boy, up out my face boy
Up out my face, I break
You ain't ever gonna feel this thing again
You're gonna get a lot of calls cause I CC'd all your friends (When I break I break)
I ain't walkin around all mopey and sad
That ain't even my bag, baby
I break
When I break I break
So look who's cryin' now, boo hoo hoo
Talkin' about you're missin' your boo hoo hoo
No you ain't getting it
No you ain't hittin' it
No you ain't a rapper so you need to stop spittin' it
Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha
You'll wonder who I'm messin' with while you ain't next to me
I'm going bye…
So pay the consequences cause you acting all ignorant
So you're ashamed now
Wherever you been layin' you can stay now
Gotta board the BBJ and pull the shades down
I'm on the plane now
And don't keep callin' from your momma's house
When I break I break, boy
Up out my face boy, up out my face boy
Up out my face, I break
Up out my face boy, up out my face boy
Up out my face, I break
You ain't ever gonna feel this thing again
You're gonna get a lot of calls cause I CC'd all your friends (When I break I break)
I ain't walkin' around all mopey and sad
They're collecting my bags, baby
I break
Cause when I break, I break, I break
And no super glue can fix this shhh
When I break, I break, I break
Not even a welder and a builder can rebuild this shhh
When I break, I break, I break
Not even a nail technician with a whole lotta gel and acrylic can fix this
When I break, I break
If we were two lego blocks even the Harvard University graduating class of 2010 couldn't put us back together again
When I break, boy (Up out my face boy)
Up out my face boy, up out my face boy (No no nooo-oo)
Up out my face, I break (When I break I break I break)
Up out my face boy, up out my face boy
Up out my face, I break (Yeah)
You ain't ever gonna feel this thing again (Gonna feel this thing again)
You're gonna get a lot of calls cause I CC'd all your friends (Cause I… ha ha ha ha ha-aa)
I ain't walkin' around all mopey and sad
They're collecting my bags, baby (Cause when I break baby baby I break)
I break, boy
Up out my face boy, up out my face boy
Up out my face, I break (I tell you what, tell you nothin')
Up out my face boy, up out my face boy (Here, I'll tell you something)
Up out my face, I break (I'm outta here, oh yeah)

Oh oh okay
Oh oh okay
M-I-M-I, M-I-M-I-M-I
Okay oh oh okay
Oh oh okay
I'd rather be with you but you never tried to holla
We could spend a couple milly actin' silly in Milano
Boy hit your horn beep beep I'll follow
Have your whip in my driveway by tomorrow
Secretly I know you wanna hit it like the lotto
And after that we can ketchup like tomato
We can make love in Italy in the Grotto
Fresh off the jet at the Met
They're screamin' bravo, bravo, bravo
Steppin in my Jimmy Choo's yeah
I got it all cute for ya baby
Nothing like them other girls
I would never be rude to you baby
Can't wait just say that you wanna be
More than just friends
Boy I'm gon' love you until the end
The end, the end, the end, the end
More than just friends
Boy I'm gon' love you until the end
The end, the end, the end, the end
More than just friends
Boy, until the end
Boy you got me all mixed up like Serato
You got me spinnin' round for ya like a lil' model
Steady fiendin for you like them fries at McDonald's
I wanna be all on your lips like gelato (Ice cream)
Permanently paint me in your picture like Picasso
Love me down till I hit the top of my soprano
We can pop bottles, get me actin' all fucked up
Then baby come and flip this thing like a channel, channel, channel
Steppin in my Chrissy Lou's yeah
I gotta it all cute for ya baby
Nothing like them other girls
I would never be rude to you baby
Can't wait just say that you wanna be
More than just friends
Boy I'm gon' love you until the end
The end, the end, the end, the end
Baby more than just friends
Boy I'm gon' love ya until the end
The end, the end, the end, the end (I'm gonna love you baby)
More than just friends
Boy, until the end
Who's gon' speak and start off this thing
Is it you, is it me
We should say how we feel for real sugar baby
Boo I need your touch
Never wanted somethin' so much
Friendship just ain't enough
Boy, I wanna be with you until the end
The end, the end, the end, the end
More than just friends
Boy I'm gon' love you until the end
The end, the end, the end, the end (Imma love you until the end)
More than just friends (Oh baby)
Boy I'm gon' love ya until the end
The end, the end, the end, the end
Baby more than just friends
Boy, until the end
Yeah yeah
Oh…

We were two little people wrapped up in this big old world
Drifting round in space out of place just a boy and girl
Then you took my hand and made me a part of you
And I looked in your heart and saw all my dreams come true
You did the impossible
You rescued my love
You did the impossible
See, I had almost given up
And now I love ya like summer time
Love ya like cherry wine
Love ya like free money
Like a preacher loves Sunday
Love ya like freeze pop
Love ya like a milk shake
Love ya like a high school girl on a first date
Love ya like shootin' stars
Love ya like a muscle car
Love ya like we're destined
Love ya like my lover and my best friend
Yeah, you did the impossible
Tonight I'm gonna need all your attention (Every little bit)
Close the door
I wanna do things I probably shouldn't mention
Like a bird Imma hum
Those three words, I love you, I love you, I love you
Freeze the time, let the world go by
If you're mine say, you love me, you love me, you love me
Boy take my hand and make me a part of you
And the love that you gave to me has pulled me through
You did the impossible
You rescued my love
You did the impossible
See, I had almost given up
And now I love ya like sunsets
Bubble baths on the jet
Love ya like Kool-aid
Louis Millionaire shades (I mean I love ya like)
Love ya like sugar daddys
Love ya like a pimp caddy
Love ya like a holiday Duncan Hines yellow cake
Love ya like it's 5 am and I'm off work (Ok, so it's 5am)
Love ya like Louboutin heels and a mini skirt
Love ya like an asher cut pink and white engagement ring (Boy, I love ya like)
Love ya like layin' in a bed bumpin Jodeci
And I'm forever your lady (And this is ecstasy)
Layin' in the bed bumpin' Jodeci
And I'm forever your lady
Layin' in the bed bumpin' Jodeci
And I'm forever your lady (I love you like the sunsets in the evening)
Layin' in the bed bumpin' Jodeci
And I'm forever your lady (Like the shooting stars)
Layin' in the bed bumpin' Jodeci (Yeah, I love you)
And I'm forever your lady (Oh, you did the impossible)
I'd almost given up

Angels cry
Shouldn't have walked away
I would've stayed if you said
We could've made everything ok
But we just
Threw the blame back and forth
We treated love like a sport
The final blow hit so low
I'm still on the ground
I couldn't have prepared myself for this fall
Shattered in pieces curled on the floor
Supernatural love conquers all
'member we used to touch the sky
And lightning don't strike
The same place twice
When you and I said goodbye
I felt the angels cry
True love's a gift
But we let it drift
In a storm
Every night
I feel the angels cry
C'mon babe can't our love be revived
Bring it back and we gon' make it right
I'm on the edge just tryin' to survive
As the angels cry
Limitless omnipresent kind of love
Couldn't have guessed it would just up and disappear
In a whirlwind
Here I am walkin' on this narrow rope
Wobbling but won't let go
Waitin' for a glimpse of the sun's glow
I know I can stand just pull me back up
Like there ain't no hurricane, it's just us
I'm willing to live and die for our love
Baby we can get back that shine
Cause lightning don't strike
The same place twice
When you and I said goodbye
I felt the angels cry
True love's a gift
But we let it drift
In a storm
Every night
I feel the angels cry
C'mon babe can't our love be revived
Bring it back and we gon' make it right
I'm on the edge just tryin' to survive
As the angels cry
Baby I'm missin' you
Don't allow love to lose (Don't let our love)
We gotta ride it through
I'm reaching for you (Baby I'm missin' you)
Baby I'm missin' you
Don't allow love to lose (You can't)
We gotta ride it through (We gotta ride it)
I'm reaching for you (And I know they say)
Lighting don't strike
The same place twice
When you and I said goodbye
I felt the angels cry
Cause true love's a gift
We let it slip
In a storm
Every night
I feel the angels cry
Oh babe don't let angels cry

If you could only see
That I was not put here for you
To judge me and dispute my in most truth
And after all these years
Of enmity, envy and tears
It's a shame you don't know me at all
I was wondering would you cry for me
If I told you that I couldn't breathe
If I was drowning, suffocating
If I told you that I couldn't breathe
Those ageless buried recollections
We transform them and select them
You have yours, I have mine, that's fine
Why are we too torn to heal
Our stitches never disappear
I have mine, you have yours, I'm sure (But lately I've)
I was wondering (I've been wondering)
Would you reach for me (I need to know)
If you saw that I was languishing (Would you reach out for my hand)
I was wondering would you cry for me
If I told you that I couldn't breathe
If I was drowning, suffocating
If I told you that I couldn't breathe

I gotta take a little time
A little time to think things over
I better read between the lines
In case I need it when I'm colder
In my life there's been heartache and pain
I don't know if I can face it again
Can't stop now, I've traveled so far
To change this lonely life
I wanna know what love is
I want you to show me
I wanna feel what love is
I know you can show me
I'm gonna take a little time
A little time to look around me
I've got nowhere left to hide
It looks like love has finally found me
In my life there's been heartache and pain
I don't know if I can face it again
Can't stop now, I've traveled so far
To change this lonely life
I wanna know what love is
I want you to show me
I wanna feel what love is
I know you can show me
Show me, I wanna know
I wanna know what love is (I wanna know)
I want you to show me (And I'm feeling so much love)
I wanna feel what love is
And I know you can show me
Hey…
I wanna know what love is (Let's talk about love)
I want you to show me
