Mariah took home three trophies during the 1991 Soul Train Awards, which took place at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on March 12, 1991. She won in the following categories: Best New Artist - R&B/Urban Contemporary, Best Single Female - R&B/Urban Contemporary for “Vision Of Love” and Album of the Year - R&B/Urban Contemporary for Mariah Carey.
Mariah performed the “My All / Stay Awhile” remix joined by Lord Tariq and Peter Gunz during the 10th annual Soul Train Lady of Soul Awards, held at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium on September 3, 1998. She was also the recipient of the Aretha Franklin Entertainer of the Year award.
Mariah performed the song “My Saving Grace,” from her Charmbracelet album during the 17th annual Soul Train Music Awards. She was also the recipient of the Quincy Jones Award for outstanding career achievements in the field of entertainment, female. The ceremony took place at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium on March 1, 2003.
Jermaine Dupri was the recipient of the 2007 Quincy Jones Award for Outstanding Career Achievement at the 21st annual Soul Train Music Awards. Mariah taped a video message to congratulate Jermaine on his success.
