Mariah took home the TRL Award for Free Ride after donating the purple 1982 Buick Regal that appeared on her “Loverboy” music video in a June 2001 episode of Total Request Live.
Mariah won the award for “TRL's 1st Lady” the 4th annual TRL Awards and was also honored with a special TRL retirement plaque for her three #1 music videos: “We Belong Together,” “Shake It Off” and “Don't Forget About Us.” The awards aired on February 21, 2006, on MTV.
