The Shooter Series: Volume 1 was released on DVD in 2009 containing 21 music videos directed by Brett Ratner, including Mariah's “Heartbreaker,” “I Still Believe,” “We Belong Together” and “Touch My Body” — with optional director's commentary. Mariah, shot by Brett Ratner himself, is featured on the DVD cover. Among other extras, the DVD also includes the documentary Hip Hop to Hollywood: The Brett Ratner Story, with interview segments by Quentin Tarantino, LL Cool J, Mariah Carey, and many more.
“Any time Brett and I have ever worked together, it's been about a collaborative moment,” Mariah explains on the documentary. “It's not like Brett walks in and goes, ‘You need to do this, this, this and this and that's it.’ He'll often ask me, ‘What do you think we should do? How do you think we should approach this?’ and then he'll come up with fifty zillion ideas and we'll go back and forth. I'm always honored and happy and grateful when Brett's available to work with me and the great thing is that, clearly, he is so hugely successful at this point that he doesn't have to do videos, he doesn't have to do anything with me. He tolerates my little ‘diva’ moments and I kinda only do them with him 'cause I know that I can get away with them!”
