VH1 Divas Live: An Honors Concert For The VH1 Save The Music Foundation was a TV special featuring performances from Mariah Carey, Aretha Franklin, Shania Twain, Carole King, Celine Dion and Gloria Estefan which aired live on April 14, 1998, from the Beacon Theatre in New York, NY, and was released on CD and DVD on October 6, 1998.
Mariah was the only artist to perform a duet with Aretha Franklin, on the song “Chain Of Fools.” “I was very intimidated and didn't want to perform with her and we didn't even get to rehearse, ” Mariah told Andy Cohen in 2018. “I was like, ‘I have to sing with Aretha Franklin, live on TV, with no rehearsal.’ But she was great and it was one of those moments where she just went so far beyond what I could've imagined she would be like.”
