“All In Your Mind” is a song Mariah wrote with former songwriting partner Ben Margulies during her debut album recording sessions. “I was using my upper register — what happened was, at the end of it, I did these vocal flips,” Mariah explained. “When I was doing it, my voice split and went into a harmony. If you hear it, it splits. I was saying, ‘Get rid of that,’ but everyone said, ‘No way, we're keeping that.’ ” On her memoir, The Meaning Of Mariah Carey, she revealed receiving an offer from a major publishing company for the song to be used in a movie.
