“Don't Stop (Funkin' 4 Jamaica)” was chosen as the third single from the 2001 Glitter movie soundtrack. “On the album you have 2001 versions of eighties classics,” Mariah told Jon-Andre Holley in 2001. “There is a loop of Tom Browne's ‘Funkin' For Jamaica’ which Mystikal raps over. On the album you've got Busta and Mystikal doing their stuff but in the 80s-based movie, you have a faithful original reading because it would have sounded anachronistic to have Busta and Mystikal doing their thing in the eighties.”
In the United States, “Don't Stop (Funkin' 4 Jamaica)” was released as a radio-only single on September 10, 2001. The song was commercially released in Australia and Europe as a double A-side with “Never Too Far,” peaking at number thirty-two on the UK's Official Singles Chart.

The music video for “Don't Stop (Funkin' 4 Jamaica)”, which premiered on MTV's Total Request Live on October 18, 2001, was directed by Sanaa Hamri and filmed at the Maple Leaf Bar and at a swamp outside New Orleans, Louisiana. “We went to New Orleans, to like a speakeasy,” Mariah explained on 106 & Park. “His crew is all down there. We went to a swamp, believe it or not! There were alligators around the swamp. I was like, ‘You must be crazy, if you think I'm gonna sit here with these alligators!’ But it came out cute.”
“Don't Stop (Funkin' 4 Jamaica)” was released in Europe as a double A-side with “Never Too Far.” The edit version of “Never Too Far” and the album version of “Don't Stop” are included on the CD Single, while the Maxi Single — an enhanced CD with the “Never Too Far” music video — also includes the Drums Of Love remix of “Loverboy.” The Cassette Single includes the same tracks as the single and the MJ Cole London Dub Mix of “Loverboy,” while the 12" vinyl includes the album versions of both songs and the instrumental version of “Don't Stop.”
