As one of the great singer-songwriters of our time, you could imagine Mariah Carey always rolls up with a diva-worthy entourage — including her many furry friends, of course. Whether she's performing in Las Vegas, or simply relaxing at home, Carey is often accompanied by her beloved Jack Russell terriers Mutley, Jill E. Beans, and Cha Cha close by her side. “They're not just my best friends but my protectors as well,” Carey says. “They're like my bodyguards, following me everywhere I go!”
What does a casual day off look with Carey and her canines, you may ask? Photographed at her historic house in Connecticut for our special Dogue package, Carey allowed Vogue in on an intimate day at home with her well-clad pets — all of whom, it turns out, are natural fashion icons too. (Fun fact: Cha Cha is Jill E. Beans's mother, and Jill E. Beans is Mutley's aunt.)

Striking their best poses while some of Carey's classic songs like “Dreamlover” played as the photo shoot soundtrack, the three dogs were seasoned model pros, proving that they clearly belong in front of the camera — just like their glamorous mom. Turns out, all they needed was some subtle coaching from Carey herself, who gently encouraged them on from the sidelines — in a mustard sleeveless Gucci tracksuit, no less.

There was Mutley, who proceeded to hit all of his marks (Carey even helped prop Mutley into perfect pianist position, claws elegantly posed on the ivory keys); Cha Cha, who was more coy, cool, and confident in front of the lens; and Jill E. Beans, who even serenaded us with some on-tune howling. All of them, naturally, donned looks styled by Carey herself — who outfitted Jill E. Beans in a statement necklace, and Cha Cha and Mutley in their best Wicked-inspired knits by Canine Styles — Mutley in Elphaba green, and Cha Cha in Glinda pink. Good style clearly runs in the family.

Below, Carey — and her dogs — answer Vogue's Dogue questionnaire.
