In 2000, Mariah and Japanese comedian Sanma Akashiya partnered with Nescafé to advertise canned coffee Santa Marta. The duo were featured in printed advertising as well as two TV commercials, both of them directed by Nakano. On the PlayStation commercial Mariah and Sanma can be seen playing real-life PlayStation games, while on Spotlight, Mariah is seen performing her song “Thank God I Found You” while Sanma tries to steal the spotlight from her.
