OPI announced the launch of eight new limited edition shades inspired and hand-selected by Mariah. These shades included four new OPI Liquid Sand lacquers featuring groundbreaking technology for a textured, matte finish infused with reflective sparkle. “OPI is extremely excited to work with Mariah,” said Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP and Artistic Director. “She's very passionate about beauty and her nails in particular. The limited edition Mariah Carey by OPI collection included four Studio Shades — ranging from pink glitter to rich plum crème — and four Stage Shades — each featuring the new textured finish — and was released in early 2013.
Mariah's second collaboration with OPI was released in late 2013. The Limited Edition Mariah Carey Holiday by OPI featured 18 new shades — an assortment of red, burgundy, maroon and chocolate brown hues, along with glitter-packed gold, bronze and pearl shades and six new Liquid Sand lacquers, ranging from icy blue to frosted pink to sparkling graphite. “Mariah Carey is truly synonymous with the holiday season,” OPI Executive VP and Artistic Director Suzi Weiss-Fischmann said. “People around the world listen to her festive, iconic songs — ‘All I Want for Christmas is You’ is a personal favorite — and these 18 lacquers evoke the warmth, beauty, energy and positive spirit that's present in Mariah's music.”
