The Radio Music Awards honored Mariah with the Radio Legend Award during their 2005 ceremony, held at the Aladdin Hotel in Las Vegas on December 19. “This is such an incredible honor and I'm really humbled by this honor and I don't even know what to say,” she said during her acceptance speech. “Because this award is specifically about radio, I just have to say one thing first. I grew up addicted to radio and all I ever thought about was ‘I just want to hear my own record on the radio.’ I'm just so thankful to God for giving me the opportunity to do this and to be standing here today.”
