The Ivors Academy celebrates, honors and rewards excellence in British and Irish songwriting and composing across categories for songs, album, film, TV and video game scores released in the UK. During the 2019 Ivor Novello awards Mariah was presented with the PRS for Music Special International Award, acknowledging her as an extraordinary global talent, an impactful songwriter and one of the biggest selling artists of all time.
“I rarely get acknowledged for my songwriting, which is the core of who I am,” Mariah wrote on Twitter. “So I thank you so much for this incredible, incredible honour.”
