Mariah recorded a medley of Gene Autry's “Here Comes Santa Claus (Down Santa Claus Lane)” and the song “Up On The Housetop” for her 2010 album Merry Christmas II You. ”We did ‘Here Comes Santa Claus’ and ‘Up On The Housetop’ in sort of like a medley with this new bridge that I wrote with Jermaine [Dupri] and Bryan Michael-Cox,” Mariah said about the song. “It's sort of like a '70s retro moment. It's a soulful, fun Christmas song but it's also very sing-along, a little kid could sing along with it.”

Mariah debuted a new version of the song, with a new verse by Snoop Dogg, on her 2020 Apple TV+ Christmas Special Mariah Carey's Magical Christmas Special.
