Mariah covered the traditional Christmas song “O Holy Night” for her 1994 Merry Christmas album. In 2000, Sony Music Japan released a limited edition “All I Want For Christmas Is You” CD single, which included a new live rendition of “O Holy Night” at the Westminister Presbyterian Church of Los Angeles. This version of the song would later appear on Mariah's 2010 album Merry Christmas II You, as well as on the Deluxe Anniversary Edition of the Merry Christmas album, released in 2019. On December 8, 2023, “O Holy Night” was certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.
